To catch you up real quick...
My root canal tooth broke apart on Sunday and yesterday I got it pulled out.
Last night I stayed up late swapping gauze pads trying to keep the pressure on the gaping hole to stop the bleeding and gave up around 2pm, took the gauze out and went to bed with it still bleeding.
By that time the anaesthetic had worn off and I was feeling tender and bruised so I did the old ice pack in the sock trick, went to sleep with the ice pack pressed to my cheek, and hoped for the best.
But not before making myself another serving of taho.
The food situation was the worst thing about all this. Like seriously, a preggo woman who can't eat food. That's seriously messed up. Last night I had 2 servings of taho and a bowl of ice cream. As much as I love both it's just not enough for me and bub.
I really didn't know what to expect this morning seeing that I went to bed semi hungry, bleeding and sore.
I sure wasn't expecting to be as good as I was feeling. I had no pain in my mouth, it was tender around my cheek but only when I pressed it. I was hungry but that's my normal. I did have a slight headache but that's normal these days too.
I was amazed. Seriously.
I was dead set on not taking any pain meds just in case, for bub, even though my care sheet mentioned it. I figured maybe crystals, ice pack, essential oils on the burner to keep my calm ~ but I didnt need any of that. Then again I never think worst case scenario and always have complete faith in my luck and how I'm always looked after no matter what.
What I did need tho was food so I made rice pudding with left over rice and coconut milk this morning.
Heated up some coconut milk, added sugar and vanilla essence. Added the rice once the sugar dissolved, let it boil then down to a simmer, then turned the heat off.
Chopped up some apples into tiny pieces chucked them in a pot along with a bit of water and brown sugar, out the lid on and let it boil and simmer until I was happy.
I figured I couldn't live on taho all day and even if I could, I was almost out of silken tofu so I had to figure out what was swallow only consistency and sort myself out.
It turned out alright! Not the most nutritious but I had food that I could eat and that's better than no food.
I ended up redoing my Woolies order last night (yup switching over to Woolies cos I've had enough of Coles) took out the lasagna and Indian curries I had planned for next week and instead got some risotto, soup and I'm making a huge batch of mashed potatoes. I also moved the delivery up a day so I should have supplies tomorrow.
Mashed potatoes I thought was a great compromise. Hubby can have meat with his mash while I have some baked beans with mine. The days I have risotto he can get his kebabs and the soup we can both have with ricotta and spinach rolls. And of course I got me more taho supplies ~ 3 more packets of silken tofu 🤤🤤🤤🤤, apparently buy bulk and save, how could I say no?
That's pretty much me today. Just all about food. Even now at almost 10pm I'm considering a cup of taho before I go to bed..
I'm just flabbergasted at how well the extraction is going. No wonder people travel so far to come see this dentist and lucky me he's only 5 mins away AND out of nowhere had a cancellation on the day I needed him.
See that luck? 😉 It's phenomenal 🦄
(Because attitude to gratitude is everything.)
And with that Im out!
Good night my people! ❤❤❤
