#APART A Picture and a Reggae Tune
We went to Wakayama by car 🚙 a year or so ago. It was our first time there and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Below is a picture we took on an evening walk at the beach near the place we stayed.The sunset was breathtakingly beautiful. We hope to visit Wakayama again in the future. Hopefully when all the concerns about COVID are no longer a bother we can travel there again.
Here are two reggae tunes from the gospel genre. Gospel reggae is another music genre from Jamaica. It is synonymous with artistes like Lester Lewis, Papa San, Lt. Stitchie, Chevelle Franklin, Carlene Davis and others. The avid listener will find interest in the work of artistes from the wider Caribbean as well. The works of artistes like Sherwin Gardener(Trinidad) and Samuel Medas(Guyana) have a nice reggae vibe.
Here are two tunes I’ve been listening to recently. One by Chevelle Franklyn(Jamaica) and the other by Samuel Medas out of Guyana.
No.1:
This is a collaboration by Chevelle Franklyn(Jamaican) with Israel Houghton(American) entitled “Good Shepherd” I just love the groovy vide coming from this worship tune. It’s an anthem of the love of God who loves unconditionally. Like a good shepherd, He leaves the 99 and goes out to rescue the lost sheep. The music and the vocals are on point in this tune, and the lyrics are equally potent.

Every time I hear Chevelle I feel she could sing the dictionary and it would sound awesome.

No.2:
This is a song by Samuel Medas(Guyana) entitled “Can't be the only one” I love this song because it resonates with me. It sounds like a rallying cry, that reminds us that we are not alone even in the difficult times. It also subtly reminds us to know our priorities, which admittedly may vary from person to person. Likes and fame are cool 😎 but the desire for those shouldn’t cause us to compromise who we are.
So this is my contribution to the Reggaejahms #APART initiative.
