The monster that I always mix up in my head. Grund and Grum flameblade these often switched in my brain. So This week it is Grund i use ever so often.
It has nice stats lots of health and double strike the one of the down side is the 10 mana cost.
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: EPIC
Element: EARTH
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: Double Strike, Tample and Cripple
Mine is at level 3 and i would love to upgrade him one more level to gain the trample. Now mine has a extra health and a extra melee damage.
One of the main downside of this card and why it is not select more often in my teams is the 10 mana cost. You must have a very high mana cap, together with the low/medium speed there are better option when you have a high mana cap.
High mana cap and only earth or dragon with earth possible. In combination with opportunity and no magic this is a perfect setup to play Grund.
Lost Magic
No magic monster can be selected. that with only earth limits the options
Equal Opportunity
All monster will gain opportunity. With opportunity it can attack from any position and will attach the monster with the lowest health.
| Card | Reason |
|---|---|
| Most likely my opponent will select melee or ranged. I do not got a nice melee counter summoner so therefor Quix. With dragon I can play 2 thorn monsters that is nice when you expect melee monsters. |

Djinn Chwala (lvl 5):
High health thorns. I like this monster a lot. In the front and back line a thorn monster will help protect Grund.
Mycelic Infantry (lvl 5):
Because of the high mana we might see a 10+ mana monster so the gaint killer can come in handy. Down side is the speed it will strike last.
Pelacor Mercenary (lvl 8):
Flying and heal in front of the Grund so expected that it will be targeted first and it can heal itself a bit while being targeted
Grund (lvl 3):
Star of this week. In the middle it has not the lowest health so it will not be targeted first by my opponent opportunity monsters. Hit has double strike with every time 4 damage.
Disintegrator (lvl 6):
Expecting also a melee team by my opponent so this will demoralized there melee attack point in combination with quick that reduced the ranged attack this is a nice combo imo.
Venari Knifer (lvl 6):
Thorns in the back when it is hit by an melee attack it will do some damage back.

Start :
Not a setup I expected with Brighton Bloom, don't see her often. Overall i think I have a advantage with the thorns and higher health monsters.
I do not see the Cornealus often one strong monster. Lucky it is -1 attack by my Quix. Also my opponent has chosen for some double strike monster only I think the Dhampir Infiltrator has to little health and will be killed quickly.
Round 1:
3 monsters already death, this can be a fast battle. Because my venari knifer has now the the lowest health is will be targeted.
that is ok because it has thorns.
Grund has hit once the other was a miss.
Round 2:
The placing of Grund seems to be oke. Again one hit and one miss. Brigthon Bloom with flying help my opponent with some misses on my side.
But looking at the current battlefield it is over.
Round 3:
Or not again some misses on my side. If I only miss the win might swing towards my opponent.
Round 4:
Luckily no misses and because my speed is higher I strike first, therefor the Carnage Titan could not do any more damage.
Round 5:
Strong finish. Win!
IMHO a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the power of Grund.
Especially when there are some ruleset Grund can really shine such as:
