Hive friends, how are you? Are you enjoying weekend? This weekend I was thinking about writing of what I usually do on Saturday morning, walking in La Floresta Park, exercising the body, you know, being in contact with nature. Some things that I like because they make me feel good. Taking one of the topics @galenkp suggested to us. Right.
Share one or two images from your weekend, (this one or last weekend) and tell us about what you did and why. Remember to use your own photos.
In these difficult days of wars breaking out and the planetary consequences of those wars; when the excessive heat is affecting me not only physically, but I have even felt my mood somewhat altered; when work issues have been relentless due to the global and local economic crisis, I took the determination to seek my physical, mental and emotional balance with simple, easy to do, but necessary actions: meditate, be in contact with nature, exercise and drink chamomile tea. I have been a bit nervous.
Well, one more time @galenkp shared an excellent quote, thank you, this time by the lovely actress Audrey Hepburn: “I heard a definition once: Happiness is health and a short memory! I wish I'd invented it, because it is very true”. I agree completely. Next year, I want to forget this year. Next Monday I want to forget this week. It was a bad week, of course.
Well, today I do what I do on Saturdays but it was different. Last night we had a storm in Caracas, my neighborhood was the hardest hit. When I left my house, I could not recognize my own neighborhood! I was walking to the park and first thing I saw was all the Christmas decorations in the British tower had fallen to the ground.
I walked a little further and I saw several trees that had fallen and were not allowing walking on the sidewalk and I saw an ambulance. I didn't see a person hurt by a tree but I felt fear. But I continued walking towards the park. I did not return home. Everything was quiet and calm. It was very early in the morning.
When I Arrived at the park, I saw more trees that the storm had destroyed, big trees. I thought about how fragile life is. Those trees were there many years ago. A stormy night washed them away.
The small survivors
But something surprised me, you know. The small survivors I will show you. The beautiful flowers of small shrubs, which looked most beautiful, the storm did not destroy. And the little yellow birds singing - talking?
Can you see yellow little birds?

Beauty always survives storms
It was not the only unforeseen thing that happened to me this week. I was cooking and I hurt a finger on my right hand, the one I use the most, with a knife and I got burned too. Of course, I have been in a lot of pain most of the week. It has been difficult for me to use my hand. I hope next week will be better. This has been an eventful week. I won't show pictures of the hand, happily it doesn't hurt anymore and is much better.
All photos you see were taken with my cell phone camera.
I am spanish speaker. I wrote this post in English as it should be done in this community, but I consulted Deepl.com for the translation of some phrases about which I had doubts.
