Seeking wellness after the collapse
Seeking wellness in contact with nature
That morning when I tried to stand up, I felt dizzy, and when I tried to stand up I lost my balance. Days before I had trembled and I thought it was a telluric movement, I lay down waiting for it to pass. But it did not. A while later when I tried to stand up again, I felt dizzy again. It wasn't a hangover either, I hadn't had any alcoholic beverages the night before. I noticed that I felt a severe headache, and then I felt nauseous, a very unpleasant feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Then I felt fear, fear came over me. I didn't know what was happening. I thought it was something serious. I waited for my younger sister to stand up at 6 am and asked her for help. She called Health Chacao, the health system in my neighborhood that handles medical emergencies. About an hour later the paramedics arrived, they put some saline in a vein, told me I was dehydrated, managed to stabilize me, and sent me for tests. Fortunately, it was not serious, they did not have to take me to a hospital.
Disorder
After taking the test results to a young doctor, she only told me what the paramedics had already told me, that my blood pressure was a little low. But there was nothing to worry about in the tests. And so she also asked me: Are you drinking enough water? are you eating well? are you skipping meals? are you eating at the same times? are you sleeping well? is there anything that worries you? It seems that your problem is emotional.
I had to confess to the doctor that I had been neglecting myself and even though in the last few weeks the sun was stronger, I was not drinking enough water, sometimes I was neglecting myself and ended up eating lunch after 3 pm, that I was not sleeping well, that I was very worried about the instability of my financial situation and that recently an unpleasant situation had happened with a friend due to the excesses I had been dating, which generated a lot of stress. I had overeaten, eventually drank alcoholic beverages and I rarely do.
This series of events logically led to a series of disorders that led me to that kind of collapse with which my body defended itself from the abuse I had been giving it. Now that we are in the Christmas season and excesses are the order of the day, I committed myself to take better care of myself.
tidying up
I don't know at what point I started to mess up, I started to procrastinate, I started to go from one task to another without a break, many times without finishing a task I jumped to another, I have not done my December agenda yet, when I usually do it the first days of the month.
I don't know when I stopped eating on time, for many years I have eaten at more or less the same times, breakfast around 7 am when I had work schedules, when I stopped working with schedules around 8 or 8:30 am, at noon between 12:30 and 1 pm and at night between 6:30 and 7 pm, it is the only schedule I have kept, dinner.
The important thing now is to change this situation, I am going to start putting order in my life, I am going to start planning my agenda properly. I need to get out of this chaos! I need to recover my health. I need to control my excessive connection with social networks. I need to establish rest breaks. I am already incorporating a nap after lunch, but I will also stop answering messages on social networks after 7 pm, moments of relaxation in contact with nature, which is something that makes me feel super good. I have to watch my diet, eat more fruits and vegetables and less flour.
Seeking my wellbeing in contact with nature
The doctor recommended something I already know, but was not putting into practice. In order to rest well and to allow my body to recover from the day's activities, at least two hours before going to sleep I should turn off all the devices whose light can keep me awake: the TV, the computer, the cell phone. Likewise, when I sit down to work at the computer, I should take 10 or 15 minute breaks after working for an hour or every two hours at the most. We should not wait, my friends, for a breakdown to happen before we take care of ourselves.
I share this experience with you hoping that it will be useful, so that hopefully you will not have to go through a similar situation to put order in your lives, to take care of yourself more and lead a healthy life, in balance. No problem is worth your health, my love, none, you have to look for a solution with patience, wisdom and perseverance, do not let it distress you, unbalance you. It has taken me almost two weeks to find my balance again. If you need support, seek it, accept it. But don't despair. Have a happy beginning of the week.
