My most Adventurous journey from Chittagong to Nafakhum, Amiakhum and Devtapahar.
Hello Everyone,
This is Alysha back again with another new travel content on Hive. This time I am gonna share my travel experience on #haveyoubeenhere Community for the first time. Last month I went to Nafakhum, Amiakhum and Devtapahar to get some adventure. This was my second time to trip at the mountains. I went on this tour with great difficulty managing my father. Finally I got a new experience in life. Now I am going to highlight those moments with you by writing this blog.
Nafakhum is the heaven place for me
First we left Dhaka at 10 pm on January 21 by bus for Chittagong. We reached Chittagong on 22nd January at 8 am. Then we left Chittagong for Bandarban by bus at 8:30 in the morning. We reached Bandarban at 10 am.
Way to Bandarban
Having breakfast there, we look for an experienced guide there. Then a guide named Shahadat was hired with us. Luckily he came to Bandarban the night before join with us and fixed a small car for us. We left Bandarban at 11 am with Shahadat in that small car and reached Thanchi at 2 pm. In the meantime we had several police checks. We had lunch in Thanchi. We took some dry food, trekking sandals and life jackets with the permission of the police. We took 4 photocopies of our national identity card for police verification.
Thanchi River Trail
Shahadat had already arranged a boat for us. At 4 o'clock in the afternoon we got on the boat and left for Remakri. You have to go to Remakri via Sangu. On the way to Sangu, you will fall in love with the natural beauty, big stones will take away all your fatigue. It's a treat to the eyes. We arrives Remakri at 7 pm. Many people leave their life jackets here but we will take a bath in Nafakhum so we took the jackets with us. Our night trek started from Remakri.
Remakri Natural Gate
At 9 pm we reached Nafakhum Para. Nafakhum Para is right next to Nafakhum. This is where our stay is arranged. That night Nafakhum's environment filled my mind. I woke up the next morning to see Nafakhum.
The locality of Nafakhumpara
In the morning Nafakhum looks very beautiful. Many go directly to Amiyakhum through Padmajhiri. The beauty of Nafakhum is not seen in that way and it is not good to see Nafakhum after seeing Amiakhum. I will suggest to see Nafakhum in the morning. So, you can feel the nature there. We took a bath in Nafakhum around noon. Khum's cold water seemed to act as a medicine for body fatigue. If you don't take a bath in Khum, imperfection remains. Even if you can't swim, there is no problem if you have a life jacket. I got into the water even though I didn't know how to swim. We left for Jinnahpara around 2 pm.
The beauty of Nafakhum
We reached Jinnahpara at 6 pm. We stopped a lot on the way so it took us more time. This is where we stay the night. Shahadat arranged a barbecue for us. His hand-made barbecue was so much tasty. After eating we fall asleep at night to conquer Devtapahar the next day.
Small hut at Jinnahpara
We left Jinnahpara at 10 am with local guide and Shahadat. An hour later we reached Devtapahar. The cliff of Devtapahar is 90 degree steep. Before leaving, many people talked about the fear of the steepness of Devtapahar. Because of this I was very scared when I got down from there. My hands and feet were shaking with fear as I remembered those words. Even though Devtapahar is steep, it has cuts in it, so if you sit down, it doesn't scary too much. It doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone to have height phobia, because I have my own height phobia. The local guide grabbed my hand and pulled me down from there. After 50 minutes, let me breathe a sigh of relief.
From the top of Devtapahar
We first went down to Velakhum. Velakhum is very beautiful place. As soon as you climb over Velakhum, you can see huge boulders. After seeing Velakhum, we came to see the desired Amiakhum. Amiyakhum is of the same style as Nafakhum. However, it is larger in size than Nafakhum. Amiyakhum is also very beautiful.
The main attraction of Amiakhum
We had lunch next to Amiakhum. Shahadat took rice and eggs for us. After seeing Amiakhum we return to our destination again. We reached Jinnahpara at 6 pm and stayed at a resort there that night. The next day we left at 10 am and reached Remakri at 1 pm. We reached Thanchi by boat at 4 o'clock. Shahadat fixed a mini car again for us. We reached Bandarban at 6 pm and left for Chittagong by bus at 7 pm. After having dinner there, we left for Dhaka by bus at 10 pm.
Go for an adventure in the mountains at least once in your life
It is very cold at night so you must take warm clothes. There was a mattress in Nafakhum Para but no mattress in Jinnah Para. The blanket they give is very thin. Even if the bag is heavy, there is not much problem because it is easy to trek to Nafakhum and leave it in all the neighborhoods while going to Amiakhum.
