I've posted before about the IBCC (International Bomber Command Centre), you can view that post here. This time I wanted to come at it from a slightly different viewpoint and with different images.
Because we remember (and selfie)
This time I wanted to concentrate on the less "tourist style" shots and include some of the features found around the centre. Whilst the message on this sign is poignant, because I am so anal, the placement of the text really grates on me. That, or the screws, could have been better placed to make it more symmetrical. Also if you look closely you can see me taking the shot, reflected in the highly polished aluminium (that was made from a Halifax (LW682) of 426 Squadron RCAF).

The Spire in all of its glory. Ok, this one is a typical tourist type shot.
Lincoln Cathedral through the Spire
Lincoln Cathedral as seen through the Spire. Old and new Lincoln landmarks. I wonder whether the Spire will stand proud for as long as the Cathedral has (over 900 years).

Another take on the Spire and Cathedral together, roughly 1.5 miles apart (as the crow flies). Although it would take perhaps 20 to 25 minutes to do that journey by car, given how bad the traffic situation is Lincoln.

Since my last post I have found out that the PG Brogan on the panel above is Pat Brogan, but unfortunately I've found out nothing more. I have no idea of rank or what role he (or even she) may have played.
Cathedral skyline
And finally a tourist shot of the Cathedral from the IBCC. If you look carefully you can see my childhood home in this picture (if you know where to look 馃ぃ), I was brought up within earshot of the Cathedral bells chiming every 15 minutes and directly under the flight path of the Vulcans flying over Lincoln.
