Close up
I have a sort of bucket list of images I want to shoot which I am slowly working through. A pool shoot has been on my list pretty much since I started. So when Jess, a friend and model I've worked with a lot mentioned she wanted to do a pool shoot too. We made it happen.
Taking it easy
The pool is in rural Lincolnshire, about half an hours drive from me (but further for Jess). I was really surprised when we arrived. A great pool in a very warm building, very neat and tidy and obviously very well maintained. The professionalism of the place boded well for a good shoot. Lots of natural light coming in through the French windows. Although I did use a bit of fill in flash.
A portrait
We were given a few instructions we had to adhere to. Jess was wearing make up so had to keep her head above water so as not to contaminate it. She got out and put her head under the shower for the wet hair look - the things we have to do to create an image.
Fun in the pool
We had an hour in the pool and its surprising how fast the time goes, but also how focused you can be when you're on a tight deadline. The images needed so little editing - I'm not bragging, just stating a fact. Jess's make up was on point and the light was perfect, so just some very limited touching up or cropping here and there. A most enjoyable, memorable shoot.

About me:
I can mostly be found shooting models, aviation, motorsports and, when I can, wildlife. But I enjoy most aspects of photography. You can find more of my work on the links below.
