We were needing to go to the grocery store yesterday morning and we decided to make a detour by and place where they sell the meat after two days in the case for a reduced price. They get trucks of fresh meat in every two days so they need the room in the coolers to put the new shipment. We had to go out of the way, about 15 miles one way, to stop in there, we hoped it was a good day as it was about 7 in the morning so the truck had just got in at 6 that morning.
We were a little disappointed as the truck only had hamburger meat on it and the pork chops and everything was delayed by some weather. So we hung around talking to the manager and he asked us if we were interested in some ground beef. I told him we were and asked what the price was. He told me $1.09 a pound! I asked him how much he had and he told me about 80 pounds left. This is how I felt, I can not do it physically but mentally that was me, stocking the freezer up again! Yeah!

I quickly told him I will take all the ground beef he had. There was a couple of people that had been waiting for some of it too, the manager told her that I had the first choice since I got ahold of the manager first. They stated they only wanted about 10 lbs apiece since they had a small freezer, another one came up and wanted 3 lbs. I told the manager I will share if others wanted it too. Karma can be a bad or a good thing and I did not need any bad karma in our lives right now.
So we ended up with about 47 lbs of ground beef. So I got it all vacuum packed and put in the freezer yesterday. This morning the other truck came in so I have some pork chops and some boston butts to get in the freezer tonight. I will do a post on them with some pictures later. I also got some lamb for a great price, I want to say $1.98lb. I got a whole back leg and one side of the ribs. It was already packed so it just went into the freezer. Thanks for stopping by and reading our blog. Hope everyone has a great day/night, whatever it is in your neck of the woods. ALWAYS FORWARD!
