Reading the morning newspaper after a long time , just after the head line 5 pages filled with such dreadful news that i found very disturbing at first but after further thinking about it and processing it, i came to this conclusion that these are the acts of slavery not just any slavery but
''MODERN SLAVERY''
Slavery did not vanish with abolition during the 19th century. Slavery continues today and harms people in every country all around the world.
Most common things which can bee seen with your own eyes are, Women forced into drugs and prostitution. poor people forced to work in agriculture, labor, industries work and factories.
Children of underdeveloped country working in sweatshops producing goods sold globally in stead of going to school. Entire families forced to work for nothing to pay off generational debts. young girls forced to marry older men due to financial problems of household.
Modern slavery can range from forced prostitution and forced work to forced marriage and forced surgery of organ removal. Here are the top most common forms of modern slavery found today in our modern era..
Forced work or labour – any form of work or services which people are forced to do against their own will under the threat of some form of punishment.
Debt labour – the world’s most widespread form of modern slavery, when people loan a large amount of money and they cannot pay back and are required to work to pay off the debt, then making them lose control over the conditions of both their employment and the debt.
Human trafficking- mostly involves transporting, recruiting or grouping people for the purpose of rape, using violence, threats.
Descent based slavery- when people are born into slavery because their ancestors were either captured and enslaved from the start..... they remain in slavery by descendants and generations.
Child slavery –most people often mistakenly confuse child slavery with child labour,
but it is much worse. While child labour is harmful for children because it hinders their education and blocks their development, child slavery happens when a child is exploited for someone else’s gain. It sadly include child trafficking, child soldiers(in north korea), child(young marriage) marriage and child domestic slavery.
Forced and early marriage of girls – when anyone is married against their will and cannot deny or leave the marriage. Most child marriages can be considered marriage slavery.
Modern slavery affects almost all aspects such as gender, poverty, race ,color, etc. However, contrary to the common misunderstanding that everyone can be a victim of slavery, some groups of people are much more vulnerable to slavery than others.
People who live in poverty (which is most) and have limited opportunities for decent work due to lack of education are more open to accepting defective job offers that can turn exploitative. People who are discriminated against on the basis of race, colour ,cast, or gender are also more likely to be enslaved by more supreme. Slavery is also more likely to occur where there is a very rich and very poor community intermixed with weak law, no security and politics with corruptions.
its more complicated than that but there are few ways our community can decrease modern slavery is by education and helping out each other but may sound not much but only one human can another at difficult time and id like to again stress upon education because in many underdeveloped countries due to lack of school and too much poverty the average man is not enough skilled to acquire a good job which would take care of his family.Thus it is also the job of the government to provide such security and law that the people who are already in debt to be more safer even if they own someone anything.
