I am a consumer, I know that. Last week my desktop died. It was a windows 7 Pro computer. For far to many years I have supported systems, companies and conglomerates which I feel have taken to many steps in the wrong direction. In the late 80's and through the 90's the computer revolution was about setting people free.

Along the line some people decided they wanted to try and control it. Thus MS and Apple, HP and Dell. The computer builders have not consolidated as much as the operating system, there are still some healthy competition in that arena.

With my computer crash, it sent me back to the Raspberry Pi I bought a few years back, and into looking at Linux operating system. So while still being a consumer, my consumption habits are slowly making the turn to side street shops and out of the way stores. A little difficult, but that is part of the fun..The Hunt for the new.

I will still be a side supporter of MS, and google, but so so much less support for them. I still like my X-box. I still use Chrome a lot, and need to move away from it. Last night I got Linux Mint installed on my laptop, and today after I get done on Hive I will be jumping to it and separating myself from the conglomerate business world back to the Mom and Pop shops on line and pay the extra learning cost.
