Voting/supporting people and communities is always an evolving thing. When communities first start there is hope they will bring something new to the table, when they don't people move on. There is a growth period, not set in stone or anything, but when people don't grow or learn a few of the ins and outs of Hive, sometimes they get left in the dust.

I have over the last year especially tried to help new people out with delegations to get started, some stay with posting and become Hive community members, some decide it is not for them, a small part of them ask why no continued support, I try to explain, but then like you said victim-hood snaps in.

On my delegated to list, I have 26 accounts. 8 accounts have posted in the last two weeks. I check that list at least every other day and give votes, 5 are pretty active, the votes are my way of encouraging people, just as I saw votes from people like you and all the others I see the votes as encouragement to try and stay involved in Hive.

There is room for a lot of people, of all types. As my account grows I do see myself getting more picky on what/who I vote for, and what communities I look in and try to support.
