I suppose it would greatly depend on what their idea of a community was and what kind of community they are looking for. If they are looking for a laid back community, or a nightlife community, they could both be considered European communities but really different ends of a spectrum.

I don't think it is the communities hiding, but that people really don't know where they want to fit in anymore. To much fear in life to embrace the life they want to have as an individual. People have been trained to avoid the uncertainty of living.
