The witness retention system has been worked on with HF 25, now we will see if people really care about the system or not.

I do not know what is on the agenda for HF 26, I do know there has been talk about making some corrections to the reputation system. Will this mean higher reputation accounts are more easily down voted we will just have to wait and see.

I would like to see the down vote system changed, getting more than 5 people to agree on a method is not going to be easy.

Do we need a semi-centralized group on the block chain, from where I sit yes we do. people think that decentralized is the end all of all, they forget it takes a knowledgeable group to enact changes to the block chain code. It is up to the witnesses to either accept or reject the changes to the code. The witnesses did accept the changes to the witness Retention system.

Two nations two hundred years ago formed to break the yoke of the British empire. two nations two hindered years later are kowtowing to the British Crown once again from my point of view. DPoS may have started and still be an abused and abusive force, will things change? Who knows, for a little while things changed between two nations and the British empire.

My stake continues to grow, other peoples stake continues to grow. More people are joining the higher up the scale ranks, and more people seem to be buying in to the higher ranks. Will more whales balance things out? Not sure. Will more people down voting the baseless down voters bring a balance to the down vote system, the answer is a simple no. Until such time there is a real down vote system then things will remain pretty much the same and nothing you have pointed out will change with time.

Witness retention has been resolved, Reputation system is being thought about by at least one individual with a group behind him. Down vote issue is spread everywhere with no real traction anywhere, perhaps by HF 27 people will be able to get a change made to it.
