It is kind of like a power outage, I have a generator, but even if the power goes out, we just go out and don't even bother with the generator, because odds are the power will be back in 2 to 3 hours. The longest outage in the past 5 years 6 for my area, but 25 miles away, plenty of power so we just stayed in town. The longest power outage I had to live through about 30 hours about 20 years ago when an Ice storm bought down wires faster then the crews could clear them or restore them. A nice thing about Alaska, power structure seems to be one hellofa lot better than anywhere in the lower 48.
