On https://hive.blog/   it is pretty hard to screw up:

On peakd.com it is impossible to down vote with out the intention to down vote:

You see you only have the heart icon to up vote with. There is no clear icon to down vote with. if you want to down vote on peakd it takes work, intentional work. You have to click the three ... to bring the secondary menu up:

Then you can down vote. There are a lot of various front ends to Hive Block chain, it is almost totally impossible to down vote by accident.

Make all the excuses you wish, but the action was yours to make, excuses as to why are yours to make.
