This news isn't latest yet it is really shocking for me until today and I felt so sad and pity for the whole countrymen in Zimbabwe last 2015.
But before I start, I just want to ask you a few questions and I guess and hope that you can answer it after reading this blog.
Are you contented of what you have right now? Is it enough? For you? How about for others? What is your favorite pastry and bread (cakes, cookies, etc.)? Is the water or softdrinks you are drinking refreshing? Well, good for you because not all of us are lucky enough to experience and have a life like yours.
Look at these people in the photos:
So as stated in the "The Guardian" article, Zimbabwe offers new exchange rate of $1 to 35,000,000,000,000,000 old or local dollars.
At the height of the country’s economic crisis, Zimbabweans had to carry plastic bags bulging with banknotes to buy basic goods. Prices were rising at least twice a day.
From Monday, customers who held Zimbabwean dollar accounts before March 2009 can approach their banks to convert their balance into US dollars, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, John Mangudya, said in a statement.
In addition, bank accounts with balances of up to 175 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars will be paid $5. Those with balances above 175 quadrillion dollars will be paid at an exchange rate of $1 for 35 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars.
The fall of the economy of Zimbabwe rand against the dollar in late 2015 was a harsh blow for all the household in the country. In fact, until in 2016 its unemployment rate reached up to more than 80%. An average monthly income for a family of four in Zimbabwe is around $180.
As such, this problem they are facing since then is slowly been resolve by the new administration of the government right now.
PS: I'm not against to their government nor the country itself
Can you image how huge your 1 USD or 5 bucks in Zimbabwe that time? You can even bought a house and lot, ferrari car or LV bags or GUCCI items with that money.
Well, its a lesson for all of us not only for the Zimbabwean but for all the people around the world.
