I went on an excursion to an Orthodox monastery once.
The monastery is located in the Republic of Adygea, near the city of Maikop.
This is the southern part of Russia.
I’d like to write some posts about that trip to the convent.
But today I’m going to talk about the amusing cattle yard of the monastery!
Several horses live in the monastery.
Horses are very nice, kind and beautiful!
No heavy work of the horse is carried. Their main task is to carry on their backs tourists who come to the monastery.
For riding horses, horses have a saddle and a leash!

The horses are cared for by the monks of the monastery.
In the photograph, the monk Procopius fondly strokes the horse.
By the way, this horse is called Blondie!
Look how handsome he is! He has almost white hair!
The horses have a good life in the monastery! They’ve been grazing on green grass all day!
And the tourists, whom the horses enjoy to ride, are given with apples, carrots and other delicious things.
In the cattle yard of the monastery there is still a donkey Sonezhka!
Very friendly «lady», pretty and not stubborn at all.

Cows and goats give the monastery fresh and delicious milk!
When I conducted a tour of the cattle yard of the monastery, all mature solid cows went to the «business trip» to the fields. 😊
There they will graze, eat grass, so that by the evening they will return home with full milk spread!
I was only able to find the end of the herding of cows.
For the «senior» in the monastery remained this cute little calf.
Calf looked at me with his beautiful eyes...
The monastic goats showed no interest in me either.
There’s a whole community of goats in the monastery.
It’s like a human family! 😊

There are also quarrels, fights and discord...
Anyway, while I was admiring the goats, they lived their daily lives.
But Sir Kozel is interested in me! 😀
As soon as I got to the goat pen, Sir Goat abandoned his ladies and ran as fast as he could!
He stood on his hind hooves and tried to meet me!
If I were to bend over to Sir Goat’s pretty face, he would smell and lick me amicably. 😀
But I did not risk...
Sir Goat is so handsome! White face with smart eyes. Big horns. Long goatee. Real sir!
When I left the goat, he looked at me with sadness...
After I met Sir Goat, I continued to look at the cattle yard of the monastery.
Here’s another curious inhabitant - brown chicken.
She looks me in the eye with interest. As if she wants to say, Hello!».

She is ready to love even a stranger! Sign of love and friendliness of a cat - rubs her head on Xenia’s leg.
The cattle yard of the monastery is a very original place!
Xenia and I met in the yard all old rarities! For example, this is a miracle of automobile technology of the last century.

The monastery has its own small apiary!
A lot of hives. Bees collect nectar from flowers and carry it on an apiary.
But we weren’t allowed to go near the hives.
I had to take a photograph from a distance.
But honey was given to us! Very tasty, fragrant and sweet!
