A wonderful man @davidesimoncini once long ago invented interesting Contest!
The essence of the contest is to find two subjects by certain titles, compose them and take the original photograph.
The picture should show BOTH of these items!
Today is round 76!
It is proposed to create a creative photograph with two objects - REPTILE and PAINTING.
Well, «painting» is easy to find.
You can use any picture or reproduction with a beautiful landscape.
Or a portrait...
How do you find a reptile?
Of course, you can go to the mountains and catch a green lizard 😀
A lot of lizards are basking in the sun on the road!
If you’re lucky, you can catch a snake!
But that’s not my option!
I have to think...
The dinosaurs are extinct... It’s a shame! Beautiful creatures!
We don’t have turtles in the Caucasus...
Finally, I came up with a suitable picture of a reptile + landscape for the contest.
And I can say that my object is both a landscape and a reptile!
Because it’s an icon !
It’s the icon of Saint George the Victorious.
On icons this saint is often depicted on a horse, with a spear in his hands.
Saint George with his spear kills the great black SERPENT!
Well, or a dragon, in a more romantic version of the story.
A black snake is a REPTILE!
The Christians believe that the image of the snake represents evil.
And Saint George fights this evil with divine power and comes out victorious!
This icon is PAINTING!
Because it was painted by an artist, an icon painter.
Later, in another community of Hive, I will tell you how I went to a monastery on the mountain to photograph this icon.
And I’ll show you where this icon of Saint George the Victorious is, fighting an evil reptile.
I wrote a post about going to take a photograph of the icon of Saint George in the community of "WEEKEND", here
P.S. I forgot all about...
My keyword for the next round of the contest is HORSE!
