On Christmas Eve sometimes you want to watch a good Christmas-themed movie with your family, and using the search engine I type in the phrase "Christmas movies" and get a long list of movies, and do you know what their main plot is?
Race!
Yes, if for some reason you don't know the main reason for this celebration namely that the Savior the mission Jesus Christ was born on this day then you may get the impression based on the movies, that you need, you just have to have a race and this race takes root in us and makes us turn a calm family holiday into a dizzying competition.
You need to do everything buy a festive canned ham that is sold out long before Christmas, decorate the house with garlands so that it can be seen from space beat your neighbor in a skating competition take a toy for your son from another person and manage to run away with it, having fought with a bunch of Santa Clauses, or you definitely need to compete with robbers who know that you are alone at home.
In this race it is difficult to appreciate all the beauty and sweetness of this holiday.
In reality the race before Christmas does not bring any joy.
For example once two days before Christmas, I had to go on a business trip and the way there and back was one and a half thousand kilometers on snowy roads.
If watching movies makes you want to laugh, then on such a trip a smile rarely appears usually when you get home on time.
And there somewhere far from home when everything around reminds you that you are far from your family, who are waiting and hoping that you will be able to make this journey and meet them, and everything around reminds you that Christmas time is approaching willy-nilly I take part in a race that I did not like at all.
