I stood behind a low, dilapidated wall of some utility room on the territory of a garage cooperative and looked through a small window opening at a huge chimney of a boiler room, which had already ceased to function.

Both the walls of this room and the surface of the chimney spoke of the fact that time mercilessly and gradually destroys both structures.

The house I was in, compared to the giant chimney, was a pygmy next to a giant, but it won't be long before they both turn into a pile of bricks, there will be no more giants and pygmies when the public utilities decide to demolish these dilapidated buildings.
