I think that most people want everything around them to be as simple and clear as possible so that there is nothing that could baffle them that is why there are various sciences that strive to present us with the answers to many mysteries and riddles on a platter.
But, it is one thing to find Troy buried under lava or to find Atlantis it is quite another thing to understand such a simple concept as beauty.
What we call beauty is ambiguous, people perceive beauty differently but in some ways most of them are in solidarity with each other but there may be snags here too.
For example people associate a bird called a swan with the standard of beauty and grace but only when the swan swims on the surface of the water.
If a swan climbs out onto dry land, the swan will immediately lose its special grace and you will no longer notice its beauty and you will see only an awkward long-necked creature.
Water in a liter jar does not look attractive, I doubt that anyone admires it but when a stream of water falls from the air it immediately becomes noticeable and this in the opinion of many, is beautiful.
Few will see special beauty in reflections on the surface of puddles and will spend their time to see something special in a puddle but there is beauty worth looking for which can hardly be called generally accepted.
Can there be a single opinion about the beauty of a small branch broken off from a tree?
I doubt it, a lot must happen for the beauty of this tree stump to manifest itself.
For example the surface tension of water must work on this image and when it comes into play, it is beautiful, but here too everything is ambiguous.
