I made a little journal to take along on little nature walks
I started with some pretty paper choices for the outside and a collection of odds and ends for the inside.
Some colored card stock, some old printer paper and even a sheet of paper I had printed some old photos on.
As you can see I punched holes in the center so that they could be sewn into one little booklet (signature) of pages.
I used an old paperboard box (like the kind cereal comes in) and covered it with a pretty paper. The corners are cut to make clean edges, then simply glued into place.
For this journal I only had one set of signatures to add so once they were sewn together, I decided to just glue them onto the front and back cover.
The middle one is the one I did for this project. The orange one I did a long time ago when I was doing coptic binding and I even went as far as to put holes in the cover to add the pages. The brown one is covered in fabric, rather than paper, so I did the method of glueing the first and last page to the covers.
It's a very easy process and you can use stuff you have around the house! This new one will fit in my pocket for nature walks for notes or when I get the urge to sketch while I'm out!
Now I just have to remember a pencil!
