God has compassion on his children. We become his children by accepting what Jesus did on the cross as payment for our sins. And by accepting Jesus as our Lord. One thing we must have to grow as Christians is to fear the Lord. Or at least we should fear the consequences of our sins, knowing that God will punish us for our sins. We should never think that sinning and accepting the punishment will be pleasant for us.
