I really hate the "God's Word" translation since it's so inaccurate. Let's look at it from the NIV:

Psalm 66: 18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; 19 but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.

"Cherishing sin" is a much more serious thing than thinking about sinning.
