Sterlizia - Mandela's Gold
Salve a tutti amici Steemittiani,
con questo post partecipo al contest di @Steemotion, con una foto di un bellissimo fiore, il Mandela's Gold, che ho avuto il piacere di fotografare poco più di due anni fa, in Sud Africa, in occasione del mio viaggio di nozze.
Mi trovavo nel giardino botanico di Kirstenbosch, ritenuto uno tra i 6 giardini botanici più belli del mondo, che ospita 6000 specie di piante endemiche del Sud Africa, tra le quali anche antiche Cicadaceee molte Protee.
Ho deciso di partecipare al contest con questo fiore per la sua bellezza con i suoi colori giallo oro e la forma molto particolare, infatti ricorda il becco di una gru, ma soprattutto per il suo importante significato, poichè come si evince già dal nome, è il fiore che il Sud Africa ha dedicato al padre della nazione sudafricana, Nelson Mandela, in segno di gratitudine nei confronti di un uomo che li ha salvati da una vita di schiavitù e razzismo, ponendo fine all'Apartheid.
Infine l'ho scelto perché era il fiore preferito della mia mamma.

Sterlizia - Mandela's Gold
Hello to all Steemittiani friends,
with this post I participate in the contest of @Steemotion, with a photo of a beautiful flower, Mandela's Gold, which I had the pleasure of photographing a little over two years ago, in South Africa, on the occasion of my honeymoon.
I was in the Kirstenbosch botanical garden, considered one of the 6 most beautiful botanical gardens in the world, home to 6000 species of plants endemic to South Africa, including ancient Cycadaceae and many Proteas.
I decided to participate in the contest with this flower for its beauty with its golden yellow colors and the very particular shape, in fact it reminds the beak of a crane, but above all for its important meaning, as it is already evident from the name, it is the flower that South Africa has dedicated to the father of the South African nation, Nelson Mandela, as a sign of gratitude towards a man who saved them from a life of slavery and racism, putting an end to Apartheid.
Finally I chose it because it was my mother's favorite flower.
