Mmmm, I know of the experience too! There was a time, 7 odd yrs ago, when I had a flat with the remnants of three relationships + my stuff, including SHELVES full of books. I've now - half a doz 'cycle of reductions' later - got a core of maybe 50-60. I don't regret it or wanna lug stuff around either :).
