You clearly still hold value in his output and are considering using some of his materials. That is an example of the putting of the 'personal' aside. Being 'triggered' (as I am meaning it) is when you respond without putting the personal aside, ie. overlooking any value, and effectively choosing to gratify the 'touchiness' instead.

Beyond that, most of what you state above is to do with who or what you think Ryze is.

You do this in a series of negative personal statements that to me, are deeply unfounded and don't find recognition in my view of his output and interactions. For example, I have never seen him resort to the level of personal insult that you consider reasonable to level against him. I am happy to stand corrected but I am confident it will not happen in this particular instance.

You know, you lose me entirely when you come out with statements like:

I just think he has a negative influence on the community

....and when you make statements like this it is more your sense of proportion and desire to wield power over others that I have concerns about

Everyone that riles up people over stupid ideas that have a potential to hurt Hive is a danger to my position.

Everyone that wants to provide value to Hive is in support of my position.

Regarding this:

Here's what I think regarding Ryze:

• good ideas: yes, I think so - lots of them!
• creative (presumably aspiringly so as well): clearly, as you implicitly agree in considering the use of some of his illustrations
• willing to work: here, if you are excluding Ryze, I have to ask what planet you are on. Look at the output of the man - look at the number of words on the post, see the illustrations which have been created to go alongside, look at his other output.........regardless of your view on their quality, value, relevance, there's no way of saying he's not hard-working.

IMO, your position on this appears to be very weak. You clearly don't like Ryze and Cynshine. Fair enough. But the cloak of your dislike is being stretched to cover other areas and it don't fit. The personal attacks look ugly - unbecoming and entirely unnecessary, seemingly unprovoked.

It is the inherent innacuracy (or, more accurately, dishonesty) in this approach - as I am seeing it - that I was inviting you to meditate upon. As such, this is another answer to the question you asked re. 'what triggered should mean as to my judgement here?'.
