Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a partnership with Kaleido, a new cloud-based blockchain business and software-as-a-service (SaaS). The purpose of the AWS and Kaleido partnership is to assist AWS customers in custom blockchain development for corporations.
The background of this Amazon expansion is the number of companies thinking of adopting blockchain technology, but realizing the difficulties and obstacles such as the cost and time spent developing the network. As reported from Gartner 2018 CIO survey, out of 3,138 respondents mentioned that only 1% has already shown the kind of "original" blockchain adoption in their organizations.
Steve Cerveny, Co-Founder of Kaleido said, "With Kaleido, companies can focus on business scenarios alone, they do not have to be experts in cryptography, because Kaleido already provides a simple platform to build companies with a blockchain base."
Kaleido is a new startup that emerged from the ConsenSys incubator. According to mass media, Kaleido is the first SaaS to provide an exclusive package of Ethereum blockchains, Geth and Quorum, integrated analysis, support for protocol options and consensus mechanisms, as well as links between personal networks and the Ethereum public core network.
According to CNBC, "Introducing Kaleido to AWS customers will help customers move faster and not worry about managing private blockchain."
Amazon Web Services also said in a statement, "This is the first SaaS Blockchain solution available at AWS Market, and will help customers advance the blockchain project quickly."
Kaleido helps companies create secure blockchain networks without sacrificing cost and time too much. The platform is also easy to adopt by new members, and has automation features. Cerveny believes that Kaleido is a cloud-based block-based business all-in-one that offers a complete solution for corporate needs. The blockchain is also one of the first corporate blockchain platforms to use the Ethereum base.
Amazon's adoption into the blockchain sector follows the decisions of several other technology giants such as Microsoft, Facebook and IBM exploring blockchain technology, and how to maximize the benefits of new technologies
