Hello hive peopleeeee and happy heart's day to those who celebrate it! It's been a busy week for me again and I can't believe this took me a while to finish. With work and errands coming at me left and right, I swear, I now savor the free time I have after having to do almost 500+ samples weekly in the past week.
It feels good to have the time to do this again, though I'm still stuck on traditional... At least I'm staying creative. And I'm also hoping to save for a laptop and drawing tab so I can be a little more comfortable with drawing.
What can I say, Having a tablet gadget is still infinitely different from a graphic tablet. And for one... A graphic tablet is less distracting. So before I get carried away with other things, I present you with what's been eating my time these past 3 days
Cumulatively, this took about 4 hours to finish, but I say it's soooo worth it!
Materials: ball point pens (red, yellow, violet, orange, brown, black), liquid ink (red, yellow)
This is my render of the Flame imp
For reference
Then here are my progression shots:
Someone at work pointed this out while I was sketching this last Friday, but I was asked why I always start so messy and so formless. I just replied "it has to be ugly before it gets pretty" and I think all artists have that phase in their drawing process where everything just looks awkward and that's when you're most likely to give up on a drawing because that phase is the make or break part. And since I mentioned that line, they've been using it in the lab a lot, and I find it kind of endearing.
Okay, this is the best I can do with writing today, I'm too sleepy for today. The valentine's traffic is definitely no joke 馃槩 my usual 30 minutes travel time home turned into an hour so I didn't even get to nap before cooking dinner.
So this is my farewell for now. I have the free time again so hopefully I can stock up on drafts and sketches again before they dump samples on me again. Night night people and have a good day~
