After wandering in the woods, I got to the center of my hometown. It was necessary to show his granddaughters his beauty. Children should see it and love it. Two little granddaughters do not help at all in the matter of photography, rather they distract from this matter. But I did manage to do something. Since we stopped near Palace Square (St. Petersburg, Russia), I will start my photo story from there.
После скитаний в лесу я выбрался в центр родного города. Нужно было показать внучкам его красоту. Дети должны это видеть и любить. Две маленькие внучки совсем не помогают в вопросе фотографии, скорее отвлекают от этого дела. Но кое-что мне всё-таки удалось. Поскольку мы остановились рядом с Дворцовой площадью (Санкт-Петербург, Россия), то с неё я и начну свою фото историю.

It may take a whole day to examine them, but the granddaughters, of course, will not allow this. A few clicks and that's it.
Арка Главного Штаба. Меня всегда поражали её стройность и пропорции. С одной стороны она кажется аккуратной и даже небольшой...но она огромна. Здесь можно любоваться каждой деталью. На их осмотр может уйти целый день, но внучки такого, конечно не позволят. Несколько щелчков и всё.
But what about the square itself? And the square lives its own life. Tourists wander, they are harassed by those who want to make money on tourists. Something is being sold, something is being bought. Someone is taking selfies, someone is just relaxing.
Но что же сама площадь? А площадь живёт своей жизнью. Бродят туристы, к ним пристают те, кто хочет заработать на туристах. Что-то продаётся, что-то покупается. Кто-то занимается селфи, кто-то просто отдыхает.
We were lucky with the weather. The day was sunny and dry. However, sometimes there was a strong wind and it was confusing. You can't walk with your granddaughters for a long time, but I still have something to show you. I don't want to overload one post. I'm afraid to blur the impression.
