The history of this park takes us back centuries. It is said that Peter 1 gave these lands to General Admiral Count Fedor Apraksin for outstanding military merits in the war against the Swedes. This is the beginning of the 18th century. Times have changed, hosts have changed.

After the death of Apraksin, the estate was acquired by Count Grigory Orlov, then Catherine II granted it to her favorite Prince Grigory Potemkin. The last owners of the estate were Count Vasily Levashov, and then his daughter, Princess Vyazemskaya, married.

At one time there were flower greenhouses, a regular park and a large surrounding area, turned into a reserve with wild goats, deer, fallow deer and many other animals.

The antiquity of the park can be judged by the age and height of trees once planted along the paths. Fir, oaks and maples and not a single aspen. And this place is now called Aspen Grove.

Of the living creatures in the park, we met only people, birds and one squirrel. Not very much for the former reserve.
It so happened that the battery of my camera fell asleep and I had to take most of the pictures on the iPad. To give a photo of the traces of time, I went over some processing settings. Changed the tone curve, light and shadow.

Mr. Helios also could not do without it. There are many trees in the park that are being destroyed. They show that there is no master's hand. But for the photographer ...
Welcome to the enchanted forest.

It will be interesting for me to visit this place in summer and autumn. I hope I prepare more carefully.

Tomorrow I will go to another forest. It will not be a park and there will be no Internet. Maybe I’ll disappear for a few days. But with me will be my camera and Mr. Helios with friends.

Unless otherwise specified, the text and photos are mine
