Karelia is called the country of lakes. If you are looking at a map of this place, then see for yourself. But it is also a country of rivers and forests. There are no high mountains and ridges. But a lot of rocky soil, large stones and relatively small rocks. When visiting Ruskeala, we drove past one interesting place. Usually it is called simply waterfalls. This is the Tohmajoki River. And I call the waterfalls in different ways.Akhvenkoski. Ruskeal'skiye or Tokhminskiye. But this does not change the essence of this beautiful and mysterious place.
Карелию называют страной озёр. Если вы посмотрите не карту этого места, то убедитесь в этом сами. Но это ещё и страна рек, и лесов. Здесь нет высоких гор и хребтов. Но много каменистого грунта, больших камней и относительно небольших скал. При посещении Рускеалы мы проезжали мимо одного интересного места. Обычно его называют просто водопадами. Это река Тохмайоки. А водопады называю по-разному. Ахвенкоски. Рускеальские или Тохминские. Но это не меняет сути этого красивого и загадочного места.
This stretch is visible directly from the road. But it is worth stopping and approaching him to enjoy this wild beauty. The water in the river is brown due to the high iron content. But she is absolutely clean. It was raining a little that day, it was damp in the coniferous forest, but that did not stop us.
Этот плёс видно прямо с дороги. Но стоит остановиться и подойти к нему, чтобы насладиться этой дикой красотой. Вода в реке коричневого цвета из-за высокого содержания железа. Но она абсолютно чистая. В этот день шёл небольшой дождь, было сыро в хвойном лесу, но нас это не остановило.
To walk around the waterfalls and admire nature you do not have to break your legs along the roots and stony soil of the forest. No need to fall into raw moss and wet shoes. It’s enough to have an umbrella. But that if it rains. Around the entire waterfall, tracks from boards with railings are laid. And across the river itself and over the waterfall there are hinged bridges. The wooden path either deepens into the forest or leads to water again.
Чтобы пройти вокруг водопадов и любоваться природой вам не придётся ломать ноги по корням и каменистой почве леса. Не нужно проваливаться в сырой мох и мочить обувь. Достаточно иметь зонт. Но это, если идёт дождь. Вокруг всего водопада проложены дорожки из досок с перилами. А через саму реку и над водопадом есть навесные мосты. Деревянная дорожка то чуть углубляется в лес, то вновь приводит к воде.
On the way there are various interesting corners and strange forest creatures. Many try to appease them by throwing coins. Why do people think everyone needs money? Nature does not need money. Nature needs our love and respect. It’s enough not to break or litter anything. Including coins.
На пути встречаются разные интересные уголки и странные лесные существа. Многие пытаются задобрить их бросая монетки. Почему люди думают, что всем нужны деньги? Природе не нужны деньги. Природе нужна наша любовь и уважение. Достаточно ничего не ломать и не сорить. В том числе и монетками.
We will return to this wonderful trail. I want to end this part of the story by showing the waterfall itself. More precisely, one of its parts. I shot water at different shutter speeds of the camera. I want you to feel the pressure and movement of the water. Waterfalls, of course, are small, but after all, water really falls down.
Мы ещё вернёмся на эту замечательную тропу. Эту часть истории я хочу завершить показом самого водопада. Точнее, одной из его частей. Я заснял воду на разных выдержках затвора камеры. Хочу, чтобы вы могли почувствовать напор и движение воды. Водопады, конечно, маленькие, но ведь вода действительно падает вниз.
This is a suspension bridge over a calm part of the river in front of a waterfall. The river itself is also beautiful. Spruce forest frames the channel. And along the coast you can just walk and relax your body and soul.

Это навесной мостик над спокойной частью реки перед водопадом. Сама река тоже красива. Еловый лес обрамляет русло. А по берегу можно просто гулять и отдыхать душой и телом.
