I have been busy! This has been the best year I have ever experienced with Amanita muscaria since I moved to Germany in 2017. I wanted to share some pictures with you!
Have you foraged any mushrooms this year??
Some quick reminders...
Even if the mushroom is safe to forage, the wood it's growing out of could make it toxic.
Never forage near a road. Brake and tire residue bioaccumulates in the mushrooms making them toxic. If these mushrooms are boiled or cooked the heavy metals can be magnified.
The best time to pick mushrooms is after a day or two of steady wind. This begins the drying process for you and it is less likely they will have begun to rot.
Rain may discolor mushrooms. Only harvest them if you are 100% sure what they are.
