Today I saw an announcement from scrooger saying that qustodian bot is going to shut down. I'm sure all the users will definitely miss it and might have to find alternatives but otherwise in really feeling happy in a way that this new HF is definitely changing Steem a little bit and moving the whales towards manual Curation. I'm not going to say whether bid bots are good or bad, I'm really not interested to get involved in that conversation at all. But, I definitely feel that in some way or the other changes are happening.
Changes are always very good to keep the spirit going. Not just qustodian but after the new HF most of the bid bots have lost their business. Some of the bid bots tried to adopt to the new HF but it is still giving some tough time to the developers. The reason why I hate bid bots is because there are few people who take bid bots for granted and they abuse the bid bots.
After the introduction of downvote pool, using bid bots has also become dangerous for some people because even if they pay and get some high votes from the bot, there is always manual curators out there and cleaners out there who downvote the posts that don't deserve so much of rewards. In that way bid bot users are in danger. People who are currently using bid bots also make sure they don't end up in getting a huge downvote from a whale. This also increases the quality of the platform.
I should say that trending page is getting a lot better these days because of this great move. HF has created lots of manual whale curators who spend their voting power on good articles. This inturn makes the trending page look a lot more better than the previous case. But still there are many abusers who trend in the trending page with some shit posts but they always carry the danger of getting downvoted. That fear makes people post well and not use bid bots. This makes the bid bot owners lose some business because not all the bid bot users are genuine and good article writers.
The intention of the new Steem project was to make Steem a better place in the Blockchain world. We are already almost there. We have been using Steem for 3 years already and many early adopters have been using Steem even more than that. But, the progress is something that is lacking for so many years. From what we see the value of Steem is also reducing so much compared to the past. Though global market is one of the reasons, we all have to admit that the quality of the platform is also another reason for it. I believe that quality is now getting better after newsteem.
We are trying to become a better platform already and the new Steem initiative is also helping so much. But the fact is that Steem definitely needs more investors from the fiat world. People should value their investment and there should also be lots of usecases for Steem so that people urge to invest a lot. Crypo ban in many of the countries is also one of the reasons why the price of the alt coins are dropping. The major downfall of the prices is because there is more supply now than the demand. We have to increase the demand somehow to see the price increase. I guess it should happen gradually. Let's see.
