Jakarta is the capital city of the Indonesia. Transportation is a big issues here. It's hard to find the best transportation for every day activity. Traffic is mostly the main issues due to great number in its population , increasing numberof vehicles on the road, backlog in roads development, the inconvinience public transportation, and behaviour of its people. These are factors hand in hand contribute to the complexity of making Jakarta more comfortable city to live in.
It is become more common for household to have one or more cars in every house. Having cars is identic with prosperity. So, many people in one way or another are trying so hard to get one of this things in their home. In order to gain prestige and confidence feeling from their neighbour.
Public transportation in the on going progres. The addition to the current busway corridor, the construction of light railway transport, mass rapid transport, non highway road to support the near coming Asian Games in August this years are making upset so many people in relation to air polution, the increasing household budget for fuel consumption, more time on the road contribute to stress, physical exhauted, health issues, morbidity problem, increase in number visit to health facility and many more.
Whenever the rain is coming, flood is the next thing to come. Jakarta which is located in the lower part is so vulnerable to flood to due its bad drainage system. Banjir Kanal Timur and Banjir Kanal Barat actually are made to prevent Jakarta from drowning. Yet, the development of Tunnel connected Ciliwung river and BKT is troubled with rhe unfinished issues of land freedom. Garbage management. Developing pro environmental behaviour and awarness to taking care mother nature is still far from ideal.
Survival to the fittes seems the right quote for today regarding the current Jakarta inconvinience condition.
But still, Jakarta attrac more and more people coming to enjoy all its metropolite living and challenge.
