Overall, I think all three are long-run for the best of the game. To be clear about where I'm coming from, I was able to refresh the page, purchase 522 packs, and use 78 vouchers, all within the window. I am in the group most "hurt" by the proposal as-is. Here is why I think it's worth it.

  1. Not everyone has first-world internet or is entirely abled, and this is not a failing on their part, and they should not be punished for it. They were they, they tried their best, and they shouldn't be penalized because their cable wasn't fiber optic.

  2. The sales velocity crashed pretty hard after 500k was hit. I don't think anyone is a malicious actor who is claiming foul to get a bonus they don't deserve. I think everyone who bought legitimately thought they were in the first 500k/were trying to be there (see point 1). The proposal as-is won't therefore benefit unscrupulous actors, but will benefit those who really wanted to get in on it.

  3. Regarding proposal 1, I personally think everyone who missed it needs to be more detail oriented and pay more attention (again, I was able to refresh, slowly click through and ensure it was all good with plenty of time). I ALWAYS double-check anything when it comes to crypto and spending $2,500 and the kind of people who don't will not have this as their last bad experience. BUT, I also recognize it wasn't pre-populated like it usually is, and that can throw people off.

So at the end of the day, I am on-board with all 3 proposals as-is. However, I have a point of clarification and one recommendation for future releases.

Clarification question Do the proposals, as written, only add access to the promo, but not the first legit airdrop? E.g. if proposal 3 is adopted, will packs purchased between 1:48 and 3:00 be eligible for the promo but not the first airdrop? I am fine either way, but I can't tell which is the case.

Future recommendation I don't like the "first 3 minutes" rule going forward. It works here because as soon as people saw it was past 500k, they stopped buying because that was the rule going in. If it was just "first 3 minutes", I think people would have behaved much differently. It would also make planning much harder. I.e. with 500k pre-sale packs I know there will ~10k copies of the promo. If it's 3 minutes, the expected scarcity is much more variable and thus harder to predict if it's a good deal. I could see this reducing demand, leading to negative sentiment (is Splinterlands failing!?). I could also see it increasing demand and printing the promo into the ground (2M packs sold in 3 minutes - ~40k copies). It leads to even more uncertainty which I don't love as it makes planning hard. So in the future, I would probably vote against pre-sales being open for the first 3 minutes (although I don't know how to jive this and the fact that some people would then be left out due to crap internet. better minds than mine can probably come up with something)
