X weeks old is the same as 8+ months old just that rapid time factor. They learn new stuff all day every day... even when doing the same repetitious stuff. Everyday is a new world to them. I would suggest whispering or talking in a very low volume voice to get an even deeper connection. They have way better hearing than us and I think we underestimate how much noise/volume goes into their ears and by defacto mind.
