Thanks for the mention @sayee.
Before I answer your question, I will tell you how I started playing Splinterlands.
I kind of made my account back in 2019s but never bought a spell book.
People around me were getting addicted to the game, So I dint want to be like them.
Fast forward to 2020
I joined Neoxians server where I reunited with some of old friends from Easydex and Whaleshares. I was pretty well received by these folks.
This moment of happiness dint last very long, as I soon started feeling lost in the conversations happening on that discord.
80% of the time the conversation would revolve around splinterlands.
Xawi would say
"I just opened 7 packs and 0 legendary"
While Mango-juice would come up with something like
"I also sometimes defeat zaku! Don't underestimate ur sailor"
Couldn't be more clueless at that point.
It drove me crazy.
Within my head, I was judging them.
I thought they were being kids.
Back in the Hive India Server, I saw sidwrites started gaming as well. He invested some money in Dcity and was suggesting looftee and myself to invest as well as it was a good way to earn a passive income in Hive.
Slowly everyone around usual discord circle were all turning into gamers. I felt even more left out.
I knew I was at a point of vulnerability where I was going to get infected with this disease of gaming.
It was just the question of which specific one I would opt for, Steem Monsters or Dcity.
I chose splinterlands as it involved a lot of Monsters like Pokemon.
It looked more like a proper game to have fun.
So far I have Invest more than what I recieved, But I had Good time playing it.
Today, I feel like those people who I once judged in my head. Today, I am the guy who says
"Now I am level 2 silver league and gathered 1300 points."
Probably others who are yet to join must be thinking
"BPM is such a kid. He should grow up"
Damn, Karma!
Guess its not so bad being a kid. Haha.
Now coming to your question.
