Hello everyone! This is week-015 of our weekend thread contest. Our aim in the Hive Learners community is to promote engagement, interaction, and fun while also providing a healthy environment for Hivers to grow and explore their potential. And in that light, we bring you yet another initiative to spur another form of creativity and camaraderie among users in the community:
Generally, the idea is to thread, thread, and thread your way this weekend surrounding the topic given—which we will get to in a minute—engage with other threads by other users, and promote the spirit of engagement. It's a fun activity, and we invite you to join in.
One special comment, many users were using outsourced pictures/photographs, which is not forbidden, if the member shares the source of the image.
For last week's topic, "Reflect on a childhood moment that makes you cringe now. Tell us about something embarrassing, hilarious, or even hurtful that you did as a kid when you didn't know any better.", just like we mentioned in our announcement post last weekend. We had 9 participants and 8 prizes to distribute. During the contest, users brought some stories in their lives that somehow embarrassed them. Misschieves as a child happens a lot, so we saw users who as a kid took coins from their parent's shop and fire extinguishers usage at school.
...created an awesome thread with a detailed story about her wishes to be a firefighter and how that brought her to use the fire extinguisher. However, she told in the story that despite being proud of knowing how to use it didn't have the same impact on the teachers who disapproved of the attitude. Nowadays the user can use this story as a great story to show and tell. here.
...told a story about telling everyone in the school about her mother kissing her father before which created an awkward situation for her mom. Kids usually tell everything, they are so naive. In many countries, kissing in public is not well seen, and @intishar contributed to this thread as well explaining that Bangladesh is a country where it isn't common to share this type of information. here.
...told us the cricket hole story, which the end was amazing, the user found some cricket holes that he started to dig, but the result in his quest was pretty awkward: Human feces. So he got all the dirt with the feces and had to wash it as soon as possible. That was an unexpected finding for sure, the user for sure has a story to tell for his grandchildren. here.
All of the above winners will receive 1 HBD each. Now it's time to announce the five other most engaging threads that will receive $10 LEO each—in no particular order. Congratulations to every one of them for participating and winning the Weekend Thread Contest!
