While growing up, we had lots of memories and childhood games happened to be best part of it. Childhood games were part of the things that kept us really active, strong and also a means to meet and make new friends within the neighborhood.

Which is why i appreciate the topic dropped in the community that says:

While growing up, as a way of entertaining ourselves we usually played different forms of games. This could be sports or board games, it could even be games that involved cards... What matters is that we enjoyed playing them a lot when we were kids. Tell us about your favorite game.

I played many games while growing up but police and thieves was my favorite. I never got tired of playing the game whenever i have the chance to go out to play with my friends either after school in the evening, weekends or during the holidays.
The game can be played inside or outside but it is best played outside as there will be enough space to run around.
The game is usually played by two teams. One team plays the role of police while the other act as thieves. The polices chase the thieves in an attempt to catch or shoot them while the thieves run, hide and sometimes shoot back at the police to avoid being caught or shot. This continues till all the thieves are caught or shot and the game starts all over again.
I love playing the role of the police cause i believe if i didn’t get shot, i will always be on the winning team and sometimes my friends will complain about me not wanting to join the thieves as an act of cheating but along the line they all got used to it and nobody complained again.
We used sticks, bottles or anything that has the shape of a gun as gun while we used our mouth to make the sound of gunshots.
This lovely game didn’t just end in my childhood life, i still play it once in while whenever there is a family gathering during any sallah festival (Eid-el-Kabir) and i still love to play the role of the police.

That’s my favorite childhood game
