World No. 1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka has been named the top seeds for the upcoming US Open.
Djokovic, who will attempt to claim the 17th Grand Slam singles title in New York next week, will lead the men's field with second-seeded Rafael Nadal.
Third is past World no. 1 Roger Federer, who will attempt to pocket the 21st Grand Slam crown. The draw for men’s and women’s singles will be held on Friday (Manila time).
In the women's draw, Osaka is No. 1, while eighth-seeded is 2018 runner-up Serena Williams.
Osaka will likely earn its first Grand Slam title in a controversial win over Williams last year, followed by its victory at the Australian Open in January.
On the other hand, French Open champion Ashleigh Barty became second-seeded, and former world No. 1 seed Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic became third now.
