Learning to walk at 5 years old.
Most children with Down syndrome walk between the ages of 2-4. Jay is very delayed even compared to those with Down syndrome. The stubbornness and tenacity that has kept him alive through his sickest years

Psychological testing for Kindergarten.
Jay will be starting Kindergarten in August 2018. I wish I could say I was excited like I was for my other two children but to tell you the truth I'm terrified. Jay does not walk yet nor does he crawl.

Duodenal Atresia
My sweet son Jay was born on September 24th at 11:34 PM. I knew surgery on his intestine would be our first hurdle. Duodenal atresia is a closure or kink in the intestine also known as the double bubble.

Only Up From Here! Introducing Jay!
There is nothing down about Jay! Sure he has a diagnosis of Down syndrome but he is the happiest kid I know. He pops up out of bed every morning with a smile on his face ready to explore this big world.
