Recently I am raiding for Groudon in Pokemon Go. It is the continent Pokemon. Groudon is the cover Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby, first released in 2002. In the Pokemon Go system, the current release is the second release in the Go system as well. However, this is the first time the "shiny" version is released. What is "shiny"? It is identical to every aspect of the regular Pokemon except the color scheme. Shiny Pokemon often have slightly different color scheme, and some other time quite different. As shown below is the regular Groudon, which is Red.
However, the Shiny form is Groudon is Lime Green. Shiny version of the Pokemon is rare. About 1 in 4096 times rare during regular times, but during some events, like the one happening right now it can be 1 in 20. Shiny Pokemon have no real benefit, it just the same like the regular. But the rarity makes is highly valuable and sought after, just like a rare gemstone!
On top of the that since Pokemon Go is an Augmented Reality game, you can actually see your Groudon in real life, take picture with it, even selfie! Like the AR picture below:
Currently every Pokemon Gym can have a legendary Pokemon taking over the gym. Trainers can battle that gym within a 45 min window and beat it and catch it. That is what we are doing currently in the game. It is a lot of fun!
