However, what is important is how to evaluate that work in terms of a pay package.

Also, it is important, since you describe that as a PR job. How effective you are for that job, not in the past (as we can't change the past), but in future. I have personal experience in working with and hiring multiple PR personnel on very challenging PR situations both in the United States and abroad. I am uncertain if you will be keen on taking a PR job for Hive.
