I have used straight razors, but they are much harder to use and very difficult to maintain, especially in the US. So I mostly use Double Edge Razor. Regarding brush, I find the synthetic hair brushes to be easier to maintain and use. Both brushes in the picture are synthetic brushes. Taylor of Old Bond Street is in fact a cream, it is sold in a tub. Although they do also have solid soaps.
