I have a bit of a different problem. Mine is very keen (at most times). She is comfortable driving 4WD already on multiple private roads (her close friend has a family ranch here with a lot of open trails.....all muddy and dirt). I just have to teach her to drive in the city...

Looks like NY and TX has similar requirements, 44 hours total and 10 after dark in TX compared to 50 hours and 15 after dark in NY.

She wants a truck or a jeep......I think that is all that she has driven so far :) I think that could be a family trade.......no shortage of dirty old pick-up trucks here that is built like a tank!
