Before you harp on @smooth and complain on the optics of trending (which I agree with you); let me ask a question back, what are you going to do about it to improve trending?

@smooth's math on this subject is quite solid. I independently verified it, and if you don't trust me, feel free to do it yourself.

So I am not doing a cop out statement. Several of us reached out to large stakeholders (including smooth) and we have found and pushed stunning posts into trending. @joshman is leading that effort with support from many prominent community members. It has been going on for weeks and I hope you see some improvements.

@smooth is also receptive to the concept of voting burnposts later as part of users choice. sbdpotatoes do not show up on trending any more.

So my point is we are working on this together and trying to find a balance.

PS. just a quick look at my first scroll on trending (all tags) Feb 10 4:48 pm GMT I do not see any burnpost
