Lately there have been multiple people who are writing about how to be successful at hive if you are a gamer, especially Splinterlands player, however same can be true for any games, as long as there is a community behind it. Today I am here to offer some suggestions. Mind you, there is no "silver bullet", and what works for someone, may not work for you, even if you put in the same effort.
However, here is the kicker; if you do not put in the effort, I can assure you that it will not work for you!
We will start with this plot above. It is the plot of 518 Splinterlands account out of Top 1000 SPS stakeholders. Along X-axis, their hive HP, and along Y-axis, their staked SPS. Size of the circle represent their hive reputation, which is proportional to the votes they receive or their Author rewards. First thing off the bat, do you notice, that their circle size are bigger in general to the rest of the players which is all hugging the Y-axis? Yes, these people are different.
I will try and answer these in this post. Hopefully that will help you.
Quite simple. I was looking at the frequency distribution of Top 1000 SPS stakeholders. The Plot looks like this:
Data is clipped at 130,039 staked SPS at position 1000. However, it is easy to see which two bins has the highest numbers of accounts. So I decided look into the details of those bins. In fact those two groups are more than half of the data.
Here are the details of that group and its distribution at the finer scale.
So, answering the title question. This is the most common SPS stakeholder accounts.
Great question. All I have to do is the filter the data of this subset of 518 accounts to accounts with > 10K HP.
Very easy. 27 accounts, and except exyle, who is long gone (I don't miss his gym selfies by the way), and who was an exploiter, everyone else demonstrate excellent KE! Hey, I told you so!
Here is the plot of these 27 accounts, basically all with excellent KE. Ignoring exyle, which people at hive knows well, there is no outliers.
Now here is the other side.
I want to focus on the good. So many names here who I have begged over the years to write and they have stepped up, davemccoy , beffeater to name a few who have been much more active at hive and that shows. Then there are other who have left mostly, I hope they might decide to come back. Then there are others, who can step up. If I change to log-scale they will be more visible.
Lot of these players between 0.1 to 10 KE can step up their game any time and earn more hive from posting and engaging. I am here to help.

The chart above shows it all. The ones in the purple, you guys are missing out. You can easily 10X your respective HP, gain influence on chain, and develop a personal skill that you might be able to use for other things, if you post on hive. There is a missing opportunity here, and please consider using it.
I can compare flauwy to deceth, both account created about the same time. Flauwy earned 24045 HP in total rewards while deceth earn 27 HP :). Yes difference can be 890X!!
I can also compared olaf.gui to mightly ueyuey (the legendary king of Silver). Olaf.gui earned 5689 HP in total rewards while ueyuey earned only 430 HP. Now Olaf posts a lot of spam, but there are worse people than Olaf. The difference is 13X!
Mind you these are spot checks and highly variable. The point is if you are not using hive you are missing out. While others the reaping the benefits, dare I say, at your potential expense? Maybe that is harsh, but others are definitely doing better and you are definitely missing out.
Well, my title is not a click-bait, but as I said before, that I do not have a silver bullet. I can suggest a few things that worked for me personally, but that doesn't mean it will work for you. That said, I will write a few bullets that you may find useful
