“Having done all I thought I could, it seemed there was no way forward and I had gotten to a cross road.
The only option I had left was to give up since it seemed nothing was going to work out.
Rather than embrace the available option, I decided I was going to create another because I know so well that there is always a way where there is a will.
So, I was able to move on and eventually got to the bright light at the end of the tunnel.”
I have come to discover that giving up is actually very easy and its tendency is inherent in every individual.
We usually do not enjoy going out of our comfort zone, though we desire to live a better life yet we are not always willing to pay as much sacrifice as required.
The fact that you held up until now shows that you can actually get to the success point, you only need to put in more efforts to make it a reality.
It is quite late to give up now since you have already begun.
There are some factors that facilitate giving up, be it on a project, a task, a relationship, a set goal, an assignment, or even giving up on oneself.
These factors include
Inconvenience
Did I hear you say you don’t like inconvenience? Well that makes you human because it is not peculiar to you alone.
The moment a situation begins to take you out of your comfort zone you tend to respond and you may decide to let go.
We all prefer easy approach but we have to understand that life is not a bed of roses and there will always be hurdles to scale through.
ACTION POINT: Always expect life not to be fair, know that what you want would not come on a platter of gold and there are sacrifices you have to pay if you really want to achieve your desires.
You need patience, determination and a give all it takes attitude.
Inconvenience is part of the process so you have to embrace it.
Remember that even gold has to pass through the refining fire to bring out the hidden value.
Allow the inconveniences stretch you and discover the hidden virtues in you.
"Lack of interest"
Another factor that leads to quitting is when you do not have an interest or are no longer interested in that particular thing.
No matter how easy or pleasant a task is, once there is lack of interest it becomes herculean and boring.
ACTION POINT: 1. Develop an interest in it
Yes, especially if it is a necessity.
One of the ways to do this is to get to know more about the particular situation. There is always a good side to everything/situation/person.
So consciously seek the good and pleasure in it and make efforts to be interested.
In case it is not a necessity, then you can chose to set out on your area of interest.
That way, you are not giving up; you are only channeling your efforts to something more productive.
When you lack interest you may not achieve desired results.
Disappointments/discouragements
We tend to lose focus once the desired result is not achieved immediately or when there are discouraging situations.
ACTON POINT: Be persistent! With that the result may not come immediately but it will, ultimately.
See those discouraging situations as essentials in your success path.
God has embedded so much in you and he does not expect you to give up at any point in time. You can always pull through.
Failing does not make you a failure; you become a failure when you quit trying.
In whatever situation you find yourself, determine to pull through knowing well that only your results will be celebrated not your efforts.
Remember you have a choice.
“Those who give up easily have no part in the success kingdom”
I put it to you today that you can always win…
